Students, parents and staff at Wilson Middle School marked Mexico’s Independence Day on Sept. 16 with an array of activities. Students from the Spanish class went around all the classrooms to give a brief presentation on the history of the Mexico’s independence as well as talk about traditions that mark the occasion. Presentations were given in both English and Spanish so the students could practice their Spanish speaking skills. During lunch, students and staff were treated to Baile Folklorico dances. The event and activities were organized by Wilson’s Spanish and ESL teacher Monica Ponce.
